Life, Grace, and the Mountains We Climb

I haven’t been on here in a while — and truthfully, it’s been a whirlwind of a month. I still don't really have the words to explain it all or to say it all. Some of the challenges we faced felt like towering mountains, moments where we questioned whether we had the strength to keep climbing. There were crises that shook our routines, stretched our patience, and tested our faith. Yet alongside the storms, there were victories — quiet moments of triumph, breakthroughs, and reminders that God’s provision never fails. It’s in the struggle and the triumph that His grace becomes so tangible.

As we near the end of August, it feels like this year is slipping through our fingers — faster than we can keep up with. Some days, life’s pace is overwhelming. Crises hit without warning: health scares, work pressures, relationship struggles, or financial uncertainties. Yet in every challenge, there’s a lesson. And in every victory, a reminder of God’s faithfulness. He knows our hearts, He sees our efforts, and He never abandons us.

“He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul.” — Psalm 23:2-3

These verses remind us that even when the mountains feel insurmountable, God provides rest and restoration. We don’t have to carry the weight alone. Sometimes the challenges are His way of shaping our character, building resilience, and teaching dependence on Him. And the victories — whether big or small — are proof that He is actively working on our behalf.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9

Think about the crises you’ve faced this year. Maybe you’ve felt fear, uncertainty, or despair. But consider the victories too — the moments where you found strength, joy, or unexpected blessings. God’s grace threads through both. He carries us through the hard times, celebrates with us in the triumphs, and restores our soul when we feel drained.

Life is full of contrasts: mountains and valleys, crises and victories, storms and sunshine. But God’s hand remains constant. His provision is always enough, His timing perfect, and His love unfailing. As the year rushes by, pause to acknowledge the victories, learn from the crises, and trust in His guidance.

Step by step, moment by moment, keep climbing. Celebrate the highs, persevere through the lows, and rest in the knowledge that His grace is sufficient, His power made perfect in your weakness, and every mountain can be overcome with Him by your side.
